Our Name

Rum Runners Roost B&B,  Canada Select ****

(A subsidiary  of Rum Runners Inc.)

The name of our B&B, Rum Runners Roost, was inspired by a very fascinating, affluent time in history known as the “rum running” era. Rum Runners were usually ship captains who illegally transported prohibited alcoholic beverages aboard their ships. The rum running era began early in the 1900’s and lasted far into the late 1930’s and past the depression. We have always been intrigued by this period in history and decided to share our passion for it with everyone. The rum running theme has been incorporated throughout the business, from the name of the bed & breakfast and its guest rooms to the artwork and other décor displayed throughout the rooms and common areas. Plans are even underway to provide boat tours aboard a hand built replica rum runner schooner (the Niska).
